How to register
Learn how to register for your child’s phase and what documents are required.
Overview
Registration will be fully online. There are 2 modes for online registration depending on the phase:
- Online application form for Phases 1, 2A and 2B. For parents registering their younger child under Phase 1, the primary school where the older sibling is currently studying will provide parents with more details on how to register their younger child. For Phases 2A and 2B, the link to the online form and user guide will be available here during the registration periods of the respective phases.
- The Primary One Internet System (P1-IS) for Phases 2C and 2C Supplementary.
After the P1 Registration Exercise, the school will inform you of the reporting day details.
If your child is an international student, your P1 registration follows a different process. Find out how.
- You can only register your child in one school at any phase. Multiple applications will not be accepted. If you have submitted your online application and wish to make an amendment during the same phase, you may submit a new online application within the same phase. In these situations, MOE will take your latest online application submitted during the stipulated registration period of the same registration phase.
- P1 registration is not first come, first served. There is no special priority given to early registrants, whether through P1-IS or online form.
- You may be requested to upload copies of your documents during registration. Schools may also contact you directly to request for additional documents.

Documents for withdrawal from school
If you have secured a place for your child in an earlier registration phase, you will need to withdraw your place before registering for another school. You will need to email the school that your child has been admitted to, using the same email address provided during the online registration.
We will not process any further online registrations for your child unless you have withdrawn your place, and your child will remain in the school that they had earlier secured a place at. You are to ensure that the child has been successfully withdrawn before submitting another online registration.

We encourage all parents to discuss well ahead and decide on their preferred school before submitting the online registration. This is to avoid the need for any withdrawals or amendments which may lead to delays or missing a registration phase, and resulting in your child not getting into your preferred school.
Documents for divorced or separated parents
Joint custody
You will both need to agree on the choice of school for your child. Only one of you is required to register your child online. You will need to:
- Upload the Court Order setting out the custody arrangement during your online registration. Ensure that the names of the child and parents, and the custody granted are clearly visible in your attachment. The file size should not exceed 1MB. You may refer to this example(123KB) (strictly for illustrative purposes only).
- Email the letter of consent(20KB) digitally signed by the other parent to the school of choice.
- Digitally sign a Letter of Undertaking (LOU). The school will email the LOU to you. You are required to email the digitally signed LOU to the preferred school within the registration phase date and time.
- If you cannot agree on the choice of school, you may approach the Family Justice Courts or the Syariah Court to apply for a Court Order. Please do so at least 3 months ahead of your child's P1 registration.
- If you have previously (a) started divorce proceedings in the Syariah Courts, (b) obtained a decree or order for divorce from the Syariah Courts, or (c) registered your divorce with the Syariah Courts, and now wish to obtain an order from the Family Justice Courts relating to the choice of your child's school, please consider whether you will need the prior leave of the Syariah Courts to do so and give yourself additional time to complete that process.
- We will process the child’s registration based on the choices made by the parent authorised in the Court Order.
- If there is a dispute about your child's enrolment that cannot be resolved, we may place your child in another school with vacancy.
