Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec): Select preferred schools
2. Understand DSA-Sec Commitment
If your child has a confirmed offer or is on a wait list, you will receive the instructions on submitting school preferences through SMS and email from postman.gov.sg.
By accepting a DSA-Sec offer, whether it is a confirmed offer or your child is on a wait list, your child is expressing a commitment to study in that school and develop their talent in the chosen area. They are required to honour this commitment.
If your child is admitted through DSA-Sec, they are not allowed to:
- Submit school choices during S1 Posting
- Transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results
Talent area participation
All DSA-Sec students must participate in activities related to their selected talent area:
- Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC): Throughout their secondary education (Secondary 1 to 4)
- Integrated Programme (IP): From Year 1 to Year 4 (of the 6-year programme)
School commitment duration
- SEC: Throughout their secondary education (Secondary 1 to 4)
- IP: For 6 years (Year 1 to Year 6, from secondary to post-secondary)
If your child is unsure or not ready to commit to the DSA-Sec school, do not submit any school preference. They can still apply for secondary schools through S1 Posting at the end of the year, if eligible.
