Defence & Security Management
The Diploma in Defence & Security Management (DDSM) is designed to develop well-rounded graduates with strong operational, technical, and management competencies for careers in defence, enforcement, and security sectors.
DDSM offers two major pathways (Engineering and Leadership Development), enabling customised learning aligned with individual interests. The Engineering major will be relevant to technical roles within the uniformed services, while the Leadership Development major will be relevant to operational roles within the uniformed services, particularly leadership roles. Students who successfully sign on with the uniformed services may be able to kick-start their career during their final year of diploma.
To enrol in the Diploma in Defence & Security Management (DDSM), applicants must be a Singapore Citizen (or Singapore Permanent Resident in the process of attaining Singapore Citizenship) and are required to complete a medical declaration as part of the admission process. During the sign-on phase, applicants must successfully undergo medical examinations and fulfil any additional requirements such as selection tests, specified by the respective uniformed agencies. In line with sign on requirements, applicants who are interested in applying for DDSM should ensure that they do not have profound mobility, hearing, and visual impairments, as well as neurodiversity such as autism spectrum disorder. They should not have any chronic health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy, skin disorder, high blood pressure, heart problems and schizophrenia.
