Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE)

Each polytechnic runs its own Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) for students with local or international qualifications who are not eligible to apply for courses under other admissions exercises.

Application and selection process

Application timelines vary for different qualifications. Learn more about the timeline for each type of qualifications:

Students with local qualifications:

  • O-Level/IP Year 4
  • A-Level/IB/NUSS
  • NITEC/Higher NITEC
  • CBSEN

Students with international qualifications:

  • IGCSE
  • UEC
  • SPM/STPM
  • Others

Minimum entry requirement (MER) for students with international qualifications

Students with:

  • Year 12 qualifications may apply for polytechnics admissions.
  • Year 10 qualifications and are Singaporeans may apply for polytechnics admissions.
Note: Students may be required to sit for further assessments or interviews administered by the polytechnics.
