Chinese Studies
Develops professionals who are proficient in the Chinese language and culture, in two different areas - primary school teaching,or business. Graduates from the course can work as:
1) Business administrators, reporters, copywriters, scriptwriters, translators, heritage programme executives, event executives, or executives in start-ups and businesses with a presence in China market (for graduates of the Business Track).
2) Beginning Chinese Language educators, curriculum specialists, and editors (for graduates of the Education Track) .
- Applicants admitted to the Diploma in Chinese Studies who wish to teach in MOE primary schools should choose the Education specialisation option (at the end of Year 1).
- Applicants who are keen on a teaching career with the Ministry of Education (MOE) are encouraged to apply under a separate exercise administered by MOE. For more information, please visit MOE Teaching Scholarships. Applicants should apply directly to MOE at the above MOE website. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview to determine their eligibility for MOE Teacher Training Sponsorship. Selected candidates are required to pass a medical examination.

(Additional requirement) Obtained one of the following:
- Grade B4 for O-Level Higher Chinese Language
- Grade B3 for O-Level Chinese Language
- Grade 1 for N(A)-Level Chinese Language
