Career prospects
Graduates of the DMB course are highly sought after by shore-based maritime industry. They are able to be employed in a wide variety of job functions at different executive levels. On completion of the course, graduates would have acquired a strong broad-based foundation in maritime business to allow them to gain meaningful employment in the shipping and associated industries with minimal induction. They will initially be recruited as junior executives and will have bright prospects for upward career mobility after gaining further or more specialised experience and/or further academic qualifications.
Sectors of the maritime industry are likely to recruit DMB graduates include ship management, shipowning, ship broking, bunker suppliers, marine insurance, shipping agency, shipchandling, logistics and supply chain management, freight forwarding companies, maritime authorities and classification societies.
