Secondary 1 (S1): Submit school choices
1. Overview
After receiving PSLE results, you and your child can shortlist suitable secondary schools, and submit the school choices within 7 calendar days after the release of the PSLE results.
If you are unable to collect the PSLE results, you can nominate another adult using this proxy form.
Before you start
Information of your child's eligible Posting Group(s) and other eligibilities (if any) will be shared through:
- S1 Portal when you log in using your Singpass
- a personalised S1 Option Form and an Eligibility Letter that you and your child will receive together with the PSLE results.
Should you require assistance to obtain the information, you can approach your child's primary school directly.

- Posting Group eligibility
Your child's eligible Posting Group(s) will be shown.
- Students eligible for only one Posting Group, no action is required on this section.
- Students eligible for two Posting Groups (e.g. Posting Groups 2 and 3 or Posting Groups 1 and 2) must decide which Posting Group best suits their learning pace and abilities. They will need to indicate their preferred Posting Group in the S1 Portal before submitting school choices. The chosen Posting Group will apply to all school choices.
- Third Language eligibility
Your child’s eligibility to apply for a Third Language programme will be shown.
- Students who are eligible must indicate their interest by selecting ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on the Third Language page when submitting school choices in the S1 Portal.

- DSA-Sec outcome
If your child participated in the Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec), your child’s DSA-Sec allocation outcome will be shown.
- Successfully admitted through DSA-Sec: You are not allowed to submit school choices in the S1 Posting Exercise. However, you may still need to indicate options, such as choice of Posting Group or Third Language, as shown in the S1 Portal or Eligibility Letter, where applicable.
- Not successful in DSA-Sec: Proceed to submit school choices.
Complete your submission
The school choices available for selection in the S1 Portal are personalised based on your child's Posting Group and other eligibilities, which are determined by your child’s PSLE results.
Step 1: Discuss suitable secondary school choices with your child.
Step 2: Submit up to 6 secondary school choices in order of preference through the S1 Portal.
Step 3: Submit your choices before the deadline.
Students who do not submit any school choices during the S1 school submission period will be posted to a school with remaining vacancies, based on their official registered address, after all the students who have indicated their choices have been posted. Due to limited vacancies, they might not be posted to a school near their official registered address.
