Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)

1. Overview

The Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) is one of two pathways for Normal (Academic) students. It allows Secondary 4 N(A) students to be admitted directly into a 2-year Higher Nitec programme at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) without having to sit for the O-Level examinations.

Upon successful completion of the course by attaining the minimum required Grade Point Average (GPA), you will be guaranteed a place in a polytechnic diploma course mapped to your Higher Nitec course.

Who can apply

Secondary 4 N(A) students who have taken the most recent N-Level examinations as a school candidate.

Between Thu, 18 Dec and Mon, 22 Dec 2025 (tentative)

Release of N-Level results

Your secondary school will inform you how to collect your results. If you cannot collect your results in person, contact your school for help with appointing a proxy. Proxies must bring required documents for verification.

5 calendar days starting from the day of the N-Level results release

Apply

  1. Find the courses that you can apply.
  2. Submit your application directly to ITE based on a combination of your N-Level examination results and your school's preliminary examination results.

For guidance on your next steps, speak with your teachers or Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Counsellor in your secondary school. Alternatively, you may make an ECG counselling appointment via the ECG Centre @ MOE, which offers online or phone counselling services.

You can apply for Higher Nitec courses under the DPP based on a combination of your N-Level and O-Level examination results.
