Our School Community

Our schools forge enduring connections beyond the school walls. See how teachers, members of the community, parent volunteers and non-teaching staff play an important role in enriching our students’ school life.

"We have a team of caring and dedicated staff. They go the extra mile to help our students discover their strengths and interests," says our Principal, Mr Enoch Lau.

Mr Lau is a sports enthusiast and an Arsenal fan. He inspires us to excel and learn new skills beyond the classroom. Mr Kevin Patt, Vice Principal, is a skillful photographer who shares his talent with us and guides us to discover our strengths. Our librarian, Ms Azura, goes the extra mile to teach us to be responsible individuals. Our security officer, Mdm Lee Geok Lan, is always vigilant and helps to create a safe environment for us.

Together, we build a strong school community in Fernvale Primary.

Forces Behind the Scenes

The people that we think about in school are teachers and students. However, there are other people whose efforts may go unnoticed.

For example, our friendly security guard, Uncle Raphael, always smiles to welcome us into school and ensures our safety. Our diligent Operations Support Officer, Auntie Revathi, comes extra early to unlock our shutters and classrooms. Our efficient janitor, Uncle Tan, helps to ensure our classrooms are clean. Our caring office staff, Mdm Juminah, never fails to attend to us whenever we need a band-aid. Lastly, our long-serving canteen vendor, Uncle Goh, always whips up healthy and delicious meals for us.

They tirelessly operate behind the scenes. I do not know what our school community would be like without them.

It's the Rebound That Matters
By Koh Zhuo Qing, Huang Yuyang

Teacher Facilitator: Christopher Sim

In basketball, a rebound is credited to a team when it gains possession of the ball after any missed shot that is not cleared by a single player.

To 'rebound' can also mean persevering and bouncing back from difficulties. This is demonstrated through unity, which involves selfless teamwork, effective communication, and mutual support. This forms a cohesive unit that is greater than the sum of its parts.

A united team shares a collective vision of success and trusts each other's abilities, which fosters a strong bond on and off the court. They can handle challenges, celebrate victories, and rebound from setbacks together.

This is also what our school community is about.
