SMRT is actively recruiting for fresh graduates as a gear up for Singapore’s land transport transformation. The 24-month SMRT Engineering and Management Associate Programme (EMA) aims to equip Engineering Associates with the essential leadership and functional skills to succeed as a well-rounded individual in a rewarding career.

The rigorous programme encompasses SMRT's comprehensive Triple ‘E’ Development framework – Education, Exposure and Experience to jump start the individual career. Engineering Associates will undergo a structured training programme (Education) in the first 2 months of journey with SMRT. This includes foundational training in the rail industry, safety, technical domains, and personal development. Subsequently, an On-the-Job Training (OJT) (Experience) will be in place for 6 months to gain hands-on and practical experience, followed by 16 months of grounding in a specific domain to deepen functional core. Engineering Associates can expect cross department/BU projects and CCAs (Exposure) in the course of career. The company will will also provide all in the EMA programme with mentorship and networking opportunities with Senior Management that will broaden professional outlook and sharpen leadership edge.

In line with the growing demand for Rail Engineers, the SMRT Train Engineer Professionalisation (STEP) framework is designed to provide Engineering Associates with structured grounding in engineering fundamentals, leading to professional accreditation as Chartered Engineers. Under STEP, Engineering Associates will also have the opportunity to undergo Postgraduate Railway Engineering courses by an Institute of Higher Learning and Singapore Rail Academy.
