Our School Community

Our schools forge bonds beyond the school walls. Be it members of the community, parent volunteers, or non-teaching staff, they play an important role in enriching and complementing our students’ school life.

While most of us are still asleep at 6 AM, Mr Patrick Gaw has already arrived in school. Since 1983, he has been a regular face in the Design & Technology workshop, always sporting a smile and ready to assist. His love for repairing things has seen him contributing to school projects, such as a bench specially for disabled students in the handicap toilet. His humility and dedication are recognised by everyone. "I would like to say thank you to everybody, from the school management to students," Mr Gaw said. "Everyone treats me very well." Thank you, Mr Gaw, for your invaluable service!

When we think of the word “school”, the first things that come to our minds are teachers and students. Besides them, there are others – the librarians who ensure that our favourite books end up in our hands, the cleaners who keep the classroom clean and conducive for us to learn and study, and the security guards who make sure that we enter and leave the school safely. They work together to create the best environment a student can study in. After all, the school is the child’s second home, and home consists of supportive and helpful members.

Scouting Together

I took these photos during my school’s Scout investiture, where all the tenderfoots (juniors) are assigned their berets and scarves and take on the role of “Scout”. Bonding takes place during moments like learning new skills from seniors, or when being assigned new roles during the investiture. Through these photos, I captured office bearers cherishing their new roles, a Scout patrol leader leading the recital of the Scout promise, newly appointed office bearers carrying our Scout flag, and an adult volunteer teaching our juniors experiences from his Scouting days.

Thank You, Teachers

These photographs of students and their teachers working together during CCA are telling of how it takes a village to raise a child. It is not without the immense dedication and support from teachers that students are able to excel in their passions and attain great achievements. Kudos to our teachers for being our guiding light!
