Our School Community

Our schools forge bonds beyond the school walls. Be it members of the community, parent volunteers, or non-teaching staff, they play an important role in enriching and complementing our students’ school life.

BEST PHOTO STORY
Because You are the Best!
By Supisara Anya Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya & Ngow Yong Jun Hang
First Toa Payoh Primary School
Teacher Facilitator: Ms Diana Binte Mohamed Mazlan

Imagine a butterfly flying out of a book, or spraying water on your teacher's pants to test whether it is waterproof… There is never a dull moment in Mr Zul's class! When Mr Zul notices that we are tired after grappling with Science questions, he will whip out his guitar and serenade us with a song to show his appreciation for our hard work. Observing his grey hair, we asked, "Mr Zul, how long have you been teaching?" We were taken aback when he answered with a twinkle in his eyes, "30 years." Thank you, Mr Zul, for giving us your best so that we can be the best versions of ourselves!

Westwood Secondary's Diverse CCA Community

Westwood Secondary School
Teacher Facilitator: Ms Maria Loh

As a member of my school's AVA Club, I have the opportunity to photograph many of our CCAs, including the Art club, soccer, choir, tchoukball, dance, and more. Each time I photograph these CCAs, I experience their team spirit, artistic talent, energy, passion, fun and joy through my camera. There is also the bond shown among teachers and students as they work hard at their CCA. I am happy to have captured all these priceless moments through photography.

HONOURABLE MENTION
Teaching is Heart Work

Teck Whye Primary School
Teacher Facilitator: Ms Lin Yanhua

Back in 2020, a young fresh graduate decided on teaching as her first career choice – our beloved English and Social Studies teacher, Ms Radiance Ng. As the saying goes, "Teaching is heart work", Ms Ng demonstrates her love for her students by going all out to help and understand each of us. Her love for Harry Potter has also helped her build strong rapport with many of us who share the same interest. We really appreciate Ms Ng for being a caring, affable and empathetic teacher to us. She is truly a gem that we have in Teck Whye Primary School.
