Enhancements to the Cultural Performance Exposure Fund

The Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC) will be extending the Cultural Performance Exposure Fund (CPEF) to students from Institutes of Higher Learning offering Malay Language programmes.

2. To encourage students to attend Malay cultural performances, additional funding will also be provided to schools that offer the Malay Language Elective Programme. These and other enhancements to the programme were announced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Chairman of the MLLPC, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, at an engagement session with Malay performing arts groups today. The new changes will take effect from 2 January 2020.

3. Launched in March 2017, the CPEF aims to make the learning of Malay language come alive for students through exposure to Malay cultural performances. To date, the fund has benefitted more than 5,500 students from 125 schools1.
