Regional Studies Programme

Through this programme, non-Malay students gain proficiency in Malay Language or Bahasa Indonesia, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage the region. Find out more.

The Regional Studies Programme (RSP) aims to nurture a segment of non-Malay students who are proficient in the Malay Language or Bahasa Indonesia and able to engage the region effectively.

Pre-university 1 RSP students who are Singapore Citizens may be eligible for the Regional Studies Programme Scholarship.

Who can take it

Students who are enrolled into junior colleges offering RSP at the pre-university level, and offer the following:

  • H2 History.
  • 30-hour Advanced Communication in Malay Language or Bahasa Indonesia module and sit for an oral proficiency test conducted by MOELC.

Programme curriculum and activities

RSP students will participate in local enrichment activities and overseas immersion programme.

RSP at pre-university level is offered at:

  • Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)
  • Raffles Institution (Junior College)
  • Victoria Junior College

How to join

Interested students must first gain admission into junior colleges that offer RSP and apply for the programme.
