5. Enrolment into the National Institute of Education (NIE)

After successfully completing your Contract Teaching Stint, you will, at the earliest opportunity, be enrolled at NIE for the Diploma in Education (DipEd) programme.

The programme aims to prepare you to be a well-informed, competent and reflective teacher who understands the key concepts and principles of teaching and learning and is equipped with the skills and values in making sound professional judgements and decisions.

Apart from lessons at NIE, you get to apply your knowledge and skills in the teaching subjects and develop your teaching competencies in a variety of instructional contexts and at different levels under the guidance and supervision of experienced mentors during the Teaching Practicum.
