Highlights
Warren Cheh Zheng Wei
Year 3 student in the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Food and Beverage Programme

Warren Cheh Zheng Wei - Delta Senior School
As a student in the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Food & Beverage programme, Warren Cheh Zheng Wei has outstanding achievements in the academic, vocational, leadership and sports domains.

Besides receiving the Best in Cohort awards each year, Warren’s strength in remaining composed under pressure saw him participating in competitions such as the Inter-SPED Creative Challenge and the Master Chef Singapore (Special Edition). These platforms gave him the opportunity to showcase his creativity, perseverance and qualities as a team player.

A Deputy Head Prefect, Warren serves as an ambassador of the school and embraces his duties with commitment and dedication. His strong sense of responsibility makes him an excellent role model for his peers.

Warren has also made his mark in the sporting arena, representing the school in badminton and athletics at the national level. Warren picked up skills in Circus Arts whilst a student in Grace Orchard School. Alongside his peers, he has participated in performances at school-based and public events and developed his confidence as a result.

During his time as a Kitchen Apprentice at Hilton Hotel, he demonstrated integrity, resilience and problem-solving skills. Despite his many achievements over the years, Warren continues to be humble, always seeking to improve himself and to use his many skills, talents, gifts and abilities to serve the school and the larger community.

After completing his year-long Work Experience Programme stint with Out to Chill, a food and beverage establishment, Warren joined its service crew in June 2021.

Farah Auni Binte Abdul Gapar
Year 1 student in the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Hotel and Accommodation Services programme

Farah Auni Binte Abdul Gapar - Delta Senior School
Farah Auni Binte Abdul Gapar began her journey in Delta Senior School in 2018 as a student in the LEAD programme, a course of study that offers a progressive curriculum which covers various aspects of student development, with a focus on life skills.

For the LIFE module, a component of the LEAD programme, Farah attended sessions on Adapted Self Defence, which centered on improving her strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and endurance. Alongside her classmates, Farah also had the opportunity to collectively plan for learning journeys, through which she learned about the various leisure and recreational facilities in the community.

Such authentic learning experiences provided the platform for Farah to practise appropriate social behaviour as well as enhance her interpersonal skills. As part of the Work Experience Programme, Farah was assigned the role of a caregiver assistant in a home for senior citizens. Her scope of work during on-site training included folding clothes, cleaning the premises, making beds as well as assisting the elderly in their daily routines. Farah excelled in her duties, which gave her the leverage, in terms of work readiness, for a transfer to the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Hotel and Accommodation Services programme in 2020, where she continues to learn, improve and thrive.
