Nex Gen Multipurpose Port

Jurong Port has served Singapore for more than 50 years as the main point of entry to our island state, building up extensive experience and becoming the world’s leading port operator in handling general, bulk and containerised cargo.

Moving forward, we aspire to develop the next generation multipurpose port by offering a full range of high-value maritime port services that will be second to none—a port that anticipates changing cargo and importation needs, one that grows in sophistication as well as in effectiveness to deliver value-for-money, timely service to our port users today, and in the future.

Potential career path and developmental opportunities for scholars

Jurong Port is on the lookout — everyday, everywhere — for the special DNA that will make our talent pool unique and nonpareil. On the journey of a leading international multipurpose port operator, we recognise that our talent pool is the decisive factor for success. We draw upon the strengths of our staff. In search for new talent, we look out for the best people, from Singapore and from the world.

Through SgIS, the scholars will have a head start through various internship opportunities across Jurong Port to understand the work and build network prior to graduation.

Upon graduation, the scholars will be emplaced into one of the core business units, assigned stretched projects and be exposed to the Leadership Team. The scholars will progress based on merits and work performance.

Various learning opportunities will be given to the scholars to develop their skills and aid them in their career development. The scholars will also be rotated to work in various departments to hone their skills and knowledge, and give them a better understanding of work in Jurong Port.
