Healthcare (Administrators)

Through the Ministry of Health, the Government manages the public healthcare system to ensure that good and affordable basic medical services are available to all Singaporeans.

There are currently three public healthcare clusters anchoring this effort: National Healthcare Group (NHG), National University Health System (NUHS) and Singapore Health Services (SHS).

Regional Health Systems (RHS) have been introduced to strengthen partnerships across care providers to deliver integrated care to our population. Each cluster is developing their respective RHS to provide a full continuum of care for patients, from primary care, acute care to intermediate and long term care, with the patient at the centre.

The Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) was set up to further oversee the enhancement and integration of the intermediate and long-term care sector. Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) is leading the efforts to digitise, connect, and analyse Singapore’s health ecosystem with the aim to improve Singapore’s healthcare delivery.

Growth Opportunities

Singapore’s demand for healthcare services is expected to remain strong given the rapidly ageing population and prevalence of chronic diseases. With the recent opening of Yishun Community Hospital along with the upcoming Sengkang General Hospital, three new community hospitals, and the ongoing development of home and community care sector, these new institutions will require manpower to deliver the healthcare services required to meet Singapore’s growing healthcare needs.

Besides healthcare professionals, the public healthcare sector is in need of healthcare administration talent who can work with the healthcare professionals to fuel innovation and improve processes to ensure that Singapore continues to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for all Singaporeans.
