211 Special Awards to Recognise Students' Diverse Achievements

1. This year, 202 students from 90 educational institutions1 received a total of 211 Special Awards, to recognise their diverse achievements in both academic and non-academic domains. Senior Minister of State for Education Dr Janil Puthucheary presented the awards at the Special Awards Presentation Ceremony, an annual ceremony, on 31 August 2026 at the National University of Singapore's University Cultural Centre.

2. Four students clinched multiple awards this year:

  1. Former Eunoia Junior College student Ms Koh Rui En and former Hwa Chong Institution student Ms Huang Xiang Yi Vanessa received accolades for their bilingual and bicultural proficiency;
  2. Ms Teo Ning En, formerly from Anderson Secondary School, was recognised for her outstanding all-round achievements and academic performance; and
  3. Mr Joon Jun Han, formerly from Nanyang Polytechnic, received awards for his excellence in Mathematics and Science, as well as contributions to the Smart Nation vision.

3. The award categories and number of recipients are as follows:

  1. The Prime Minister's Book Prize (39 recipients)
  2. The Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence (24 recipients)
  3. The Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science (52 recipients)
  4. The Lee Kuan Yew Award for Outstanding Normal Course Students (10 recipients)
  5. The Lee Kuan Yew Exemplary Student Award (23 recipients)
  6. The Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (25 recipients)
  7. The Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding All-Round Achievement (4 recipients)
  8. The Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding Bicultural Students (4 recipients)
  9. The Lee Hsien Loong Award for Special Achievement (2 recipients)
  10. The Lee Hsien Loong Interactive Digital Media Smart Nation Award (23 recipients)
  11. The Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Book Prize (5 recipients)
