Three Teachers Lauded for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning of Malay Language

Three Malay Language teachers were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the teaching and learning of the Malay Language at this year's Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award Ceremony on Saturday, 1 November 2025. Guest-of-Honour Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development, presented the awards to the recipients. 2 Since 2007, the Awards have recognised 80 primary, secondary and pre-university Malay Language teachers. The Awards are presented in two categories: (i) Role Model Category for teachers with 10 years of teaching service or more, and the (ii) Motivation Category for teachers with less than 10 years of teaching service.

3 All Malay Language teachers in local mainstream schools were eligible for nomination, based on their contributions from 2023 to 2024. This year, 396 nominations were received between February and April. The awardees were selected by a panel of judges comprising community leaders, academics from Institutes of Higher Learning, school leaders and media representatives.
