1. The Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) has released an album compiling 13 original songs composed by student winners from the 2022 National Schools Xinyao Singing and Songwriting Competition. Three winning entries from the lyrics writing and songwriting (open and creative) categories of the competition were also produced into music videos, which were screened at this year's National Schools Xinyao Festival. All winning songs and music videos will be available on the CPCLL's website: https://www.cpcll.sg/xinkongxia.

2. Launched on 10 February 2023 by Minister of State for Education and Chairperson of the CPCLL, Ms Gan Siow Huang, the annual festival aims to promote Xinyao as part of our cultural heritage, and promote deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese language and culture among students.

3. Now in its 9th year, the annual festival is co-organised by CPCLL, TCR Music Station, Lianhe Zaobao and Jurong Pioneer Junior College. As part of the festival, students can look forward to attending a one-and-a-half-day music camp to improve their songwriting techniques, singing and performance skills, as well as to participate in music appreciation sessions.

4. This year's Xinyao Singing and Songwriting Competition will be open to students from secondary schools, junior colleges, Millennia Institute, Institutes of Technical Education, polytechnics, and autonomous universities. Registration for the competition will open from April 2023.
