Question
To ask the Minister for Education what is the share of students admitted through Direct School Admission (DSA) in (i) secondary schools within the lowest quartile of PSLE cut-off scores and (ii) other secondary schools, with a breakdown for periods 2005 to 2014 and 2015 to 2024 respectively.
Response
1. Direct School Admission for secondary schools (DSA-Sec) is based on several factors, including the talent areas and vacancies each school has set aside for DSA, as well as parental and student preferences.
2. MOE does not track the distribution of students admitted through the DSA-Sec exercise based on schools’ Primary School Leaving Examination cut-off points.
