Question

To ask the Minister for Education given the projected 2027 Primary 1 intake of 380 pupils for Pioneer Primary School, the only operating primary school in Tengah (a) what projected demand for Student Care Centre (SCC) places was used to determine capacity; and (b) how will the Ministry address any shortfall between projected demand and available SCC places.

Response

1. Schools plan the capacity of their Student Care Centres (SCC) based on past take-up and interest indicated by parents. Pioneer Primary School will be expanding its SCC capacity to cater to both its existing students and incoming Primary 1 students in 2027.
