Response
1.In the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) curriculum, Family Education lessons teach the importance of the family in shaping students’ growth and development; and how family members can offer love and support to nurture familial relationships positively. The lessons aim to help students appreciate their parents, and nurture positive mindsets towards their family members. They also learn skills to understand differences and resolve conflicts, and show respect and empathy for others in the family unit. The curriculum is intended to be relevant to students of school-going age.
2.MOE regularly reviews its CCE curriculum and updates lesson resources to ensure relevance and effectiveness in responding to trends and significant issues for Singapore families.
