Name and Constituency of Member of Parliament

Ms Gho Sze Kee, Mountbatten

Question

Ms Gho Sze Kee: To ask the Minister for Education given that some Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) already share information on companies barred from taking student interns, whether the Ministry will consider establishing a centralised mechanism for such information to be shared across all IHLs and with the Ministry of Manpower.

Response

1.The current sharing of information across the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) is facilitated centrally by MOE, and will be extended to all IHLs by the end of this year. Cases may also be referred to the Ministry of Manpower for investigation, if breaches to employment laws are suspected.
