Question
To ask the Minister for Education (a) what proportion of Primary 5 and Secondary 3 students surveyed in 2025 have slept below the recommended duration for their age on school days; (b) whether this proportion has changed since 2023; and (c) whether there are significant differences in sleep sufficiency across different student groups.
Response
- MOE monitors the sleep trends of students through regular surveys. Based on our latest survey in 2025, Primary 5 and Secondary 3 students reported getting an average of 7 hours of sleep on school days. This is a slight improvement of about 15 minutes more in 2025 compared to 2023. Generally, younger students reported getting more sleep than older students.
