To ask the Minister for Education Education (a) whether the Ministry monitors the availability of overseas experiences to students of autonomous universities through programmes such as the NUS Overseas Colleges programme; (b) if so, whether such availability has decreased over the past five years; and (c) what are the reasons for any such decreases.

Response

1. The autonomous universities (AUs) offer their students meaningful overseas exposure through programmes such as academic exchanges, immersions and internships. The availability of such opportunities declined sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has since recovered to pre-pandemic levels.
