Question

To ask the Minister for Education in 2015, 2016 and 2017, what have been the average and median starting salaries of ITE, polytechnic and university graduates working in (i) the private sector and (ii) the civil service.

Response

1. Based on the annual Graduate Employment Surveys (GES) conducted by the Institutes of Higher Learning, the median reported gross monthly starting salaries of ITE, polytechnic and Autonomous University (AU) respondents in full-time permanent employment in the private and public1 sectors are as shown in Table 1.
