Tuition Grant application process

1. Overview

Singapore Citizens 
You will automatically receive the Tuition Grant (TG) when you enrol in an eligible course, after completing the Tuition Grant Declaration Form to confirm your eligibility. There is no need to submit an application.

Singapore Permanent Residents and international students 
Submit your application when you enrol in an eligible course. Your institution will provide you with the application timeline and any additional information.

Before application

Declare eligibility or interest

Diploma courses

During your diploma course enrolment, declare your eligibility in the Tuition Grant Option Form provided by your institution.

Degree courses

When applying for your degree course in autonomous universities or arts institutions, indicate your interest to apply for TG.

Apply for a Student's Pass

International students

After you have accepted the course offer, follow the steps provided by your institution to apply for a Student’s Pass online using the e-Service on the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.

If your application is approved, you can then enter Singapore to complete the formalities required to issue your Student’s Pass.

Register for Singpass

You need Singpass to apply for TG. To register for Singpass, you will need a Student’s Pass and a Singapore-registered mobile number. Learn more about Singpass.

Attend TG briefing or clinic

Watch briefing video and attend your school briefing or TG clinic which will provide you with TG application details and timeline. It is also an opportunity to clarify any questions you may have on TG obligations. 

Find sureties

You must nominate 2 sureties to sign the Tuition Grant Agreement. A surety assumes responsibility for ensuring you fulfil your obligations.
