4Cs Framework
The 4Cs Framework
The ESP's strength lies in its holistic whole-school approach towards environmental sustainability through the 4Cs Framework: Curriculum, Campus, Culture, and Community. This comprehensive and integrated approach enables students to connect classroom learning with their lived experiences through hands-on and applied learning. By integrating sustainability into daily school life, the programme helps students develop good environmental habits that become second nature.

Curriculum
The Science, Humanities, Food & Consumer Education, Outdoor Education and Character & Citizenship Education curricula have been enhanced to strengthen the teaching and learning of sustainability. Learning resources that feature campus sustainability initiatives and lived experiences in schools have been developed to make learning more authentic.

Campus
Our school campuses have been progressively enhanced with sustainability features (e.g. solar panel deployment, LED lights, smart meters, environmental hubs). Schools have tapped on sustainability infrastructure to bridge classroom learning and students' lived experiences through practical, hands-on learning.

Culture
Students learn daily sustainability habits at school and apply them in other contexts, such as at home. Key student development experiences (e.g. Co-Curricular Activities and Values in Action programmes) are enhanced to strengthen students’ awareness and commitment to sustainability practices and constructive causes. Schools also strengthen the implementation of relevant school policies to make sustainable living a daily lived experience.

Community
Schools are encouraged to work with partners to offer environment-related learning and volunteering opportunities for their students. Partnerships with agencies and industries strengthen students’ awareness and understanding of future green jobs.
