This course is specially curated for aspiring Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) and Medical Laboratory Scienfists (MLS) with exposure to the latest technologies currently employed at all leading public hospitals in Singapore.
A mandatory clinical rotation at the hospital laboratories in years 3 and 4 will be part of the course syllabus which will lead to the award of the degree in Biological Sciences with Specialisation in Laboratory Medicine.
It is the only degree programme that is recognised by Ministry of Health for the MLT/MLS Profession. Successful graduates will be emplaced at a higher job grade at the hospital compared to graduates from other generic Biological Sciences / Life Sciences degree programmes. |

Internship

Students have the flexibility to go for internship in year 3 or year 4, as long as they complete it before graduation.
Work study option
The courses are introduced as part of the internship work terms in the NTU Work Study Degree Programme.
The NTU Work Study Degree Programme is a pathway offered to NTU students in the above programme (Single Degree) which consists of 4 Work Terms (ie 2 PA – 10 weeks each, 1 Winter PA (7 weeks) + 1 20-week PI) and also a WSDeg FYP. Eligibility: AY2020/21 student cohort onwards (all work terms to be fulfilled under the NTU Work Study Degree Programme.
