Non-teaching careers in schools or at MOE HQ
The wealth of the nation is in its people and how we educate our youth will determine our future. To mould the future of our nation is not the work of an individual. Learn about the different roles and how to apply.
There are 2 types of non-teaching careers in MOE:
- Allied Educators, who work with teachers to nurture and develop every child in school by raising the quality of interaction with every child
- Executive and Administrative Staff, who provide administrative and operational support to ensure that the Singapore education system remains one of the best in the world
School Counsellor (Trained/Untrained)
Provide support to students' mental health and social-emotional development.
Special Educational Needs Officer
Provide support to students with special educational needs such as dyslexia, ADHD or mild ASD and sensory/physical impairments studying in mainstream schools.
Outdoor Adventure Educator
Conduct activities, facilitate learning and ensure the well-being of students at MOE Outdoor Adventure Learning Centres.
Student Welfare Officer
Provide mentoring and social support to students-at-risk.
Vice-Principal (Administration)
A key member of the school’s senior management team, overseeing all non-curriculum areas.
Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Counsellor / Education and Career (EC) Coach
Help students at schools, polytechnics and ITE explore their strengths, interest and aspirations.
Administration Manager
Assist school leaders with finance, human resource management, stakeholder management and general administration of the school.
Operations Manager
Oversee the areas of estate management, safety and security, school discipline and logistics support.
Administrative Executive
Help ensure the smooth operation of the school by assisting the school leaders and Administration Manager in finance, procurement, student services, stakeholder management and general administration.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Associate or Manager (1-Year Contract)
Advise and support the school management team in planning and implementing ICT plans.
Technical Support Officer
Be deployed as School Laboratory Technicians or Education Workshop Instructors to facilitate the delivery of science or design, and technology curriculum.
Corporate Support Officer
Provide administrative support to ensure smooth and effective operations in schools.
Operations Support Officer
Help to maintain the general cleanliness of workplace and equipment, as well as provide logistical and simple administrative support in school operations.
