Centre Head and Deputy Centre Head

Roles and responsibilities

  • Oversee the leadership and management of the MOE Kindergarten (MK).
  • Monitor Kindergarten Care (KCare) service by external operator.
  • Plan and organise the curriculum and programmes for the children.
  • Manage the deployment, professional development and well-being of staff.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm to nurture the next generation.
  • A passion for preschool education, and the ability to engage stakeholders in the holistic development of children.

  • Committed to the development and well-being of children. 

Centre Head

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a preschool.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (DECCE-T); or an equivalent qualification.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (DECCE-L); or an equivalent qualification.

Deputy Centre Head

  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (DECCE-T); or an equivalent qualification.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (DECCE-L); or an equivalent qualification, would be advantageous.
Note: While the Centre Head / Deputy Centre Head role is a rewarding one, it also comes with expectations and demands at work. Applicants should have the fitness and stamina to deliver lessons, and resilience required to engage children safely and carry out their duties effectively. As part of application processing, candidates may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination.

Salary and benefits

Your starting salary will range from $3,800 to $6,500. Your exact salary takes into consideration:

  • Relevant experience and time spent on the job.
  • Academic training.
  • Full-time National Service, if applicable.

  • The MKE Commitment Payment, an incentive programme that recognises your dedication with pay-outs at milestones of service in MK.
  • Time off during school holidays, if your services are not required during that time.
  • Subsidised medical and dental benefits.
  • 14 days of medical leave without hospitalisation, and up to 60 days with hospitalisation.
  • 10 days of urgent leave for private matters, subject to approval.
