Scheme for Relief Educator (SRE)

2. How to register

  1. Submit your application through the Relief Employment Management System (REMS) portal.
  2. Check your application status via REMS. Applications may take up to 4 weeks to process.
  3. If successful, you will be listed in our registry, and schools will contact you directly if they need your services. You may also search job postings for vacancies in schools. Successful registration in REMS does not guarantee employment in schools.

Application windows

Annually, there are two application windows to apply:

  • 1 January to 28 February
  • 1 July to 31 August

Applications received at other times will be processed in the next window.

Update your qualifications

If you are registered as a Relief Allied Educator and have enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme, please submit a fresh application under SRE (Undergraduate) in REMS portal within a month of the date of your matriculation.

If you are currently registered as a SRE (Undergraduate) and have completed your degree, please submit a fresh application under SRE (Graduate) in REMS portal within a month of the conferment of your degree.

Documents to bring on your first day

You will need to bring the following verification documents when a school hires you as a relief teacher:

  • Original educational certificates
  • Relevant transcripts
  • Necessary identification documents
