About Education Fund

The Education Fund (EF) was set up in 1970 for the general advancement of education and is administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE).

EF supports a wide range of education causes including scholarships and bursaries for students from less advantaged backgrounds, programmes to cultivate students’ interest in the arts as well as awards for outstanding students.

Donating to Education Fund

EF accepts donations for both general and specific education purposes. Donors may consider the following:

General Fund

Donations to the General Fund will be used to support programmes and projects which are for the advancement of education generally with focus on mainstream schools. The programmes are not limited to helping any specific group of students.

Financial Assistance Fund

Donations to the Financial Assistance Fund will be used to assist Singapore citizen students from less advantaged background. Some areas which the Fund can be used include providing textbooks, uniforms and meals for students who do not qualify for the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme.

Lee Kuan Yew Education Fund (LKY Fund)

Donations to the LKY Fund will be used to fund the Lee Kuan Yew Awards. The Lee Kuan Yew Awards are special awards given out annually to outstanding students in schools, the Institute of Technical Education and Polytechnics, in recognition of their achievements in academic and non-academic spheres.

How to contribute

A. Contributions by Cheque

All cheques for donations should be made payable to the “Education Fund”. Please indicate the Fund(s) you are donating to at the back of the cheque. If no Fund is indicated at the back of the cheque, we will channel the donation to the General Fund.

If you wish to receive tax deduction receipt for your donation, please also let us have the following details:

  • Full name (as per NRIC) or Company name (This will be the name reflected on the tax deduction receipt);
  • NRIC number (for individuals) or UEN/tax reference number (for corporations);
  • Email address to send the tax deduction receipts to; and
  • Contact number.

Please mail the completed cheque to the following address: Education Fund Ministry of Education 1 North Buona Vista Drive MOE Building Singapore 138675. Attention: Financial Management Section.

B. Contributions through giving.sg website

Donors can contribute online via the website at https://www.giving.sg/education-fund

For donations to the Financial Assistance Fund, please select the Campaign – Contributions to the Financial Assistance Fund.

For donations to the LKY Fund, please select the Campaign – Contributions in Memory of Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
