Shapes the national curriculum through the development and review of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and 21st Century Competencies policies.
Functions
- Lead in thought leadership and research work to ensure that our curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and 21st Century Competencies (21CC) policies are informed by sound educational thinking and, mega-trends and developments in industry and the wider society which hold implications for education.
- Develop, implement, review and evaluate policies to ensure sound, balanced, purposeful and effective curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices, including 21CC development, aligned with national directions and aspirations.
- Facilitate sound, balanced, purposeful and effective curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices, including 21CC development, through strategic partnerships with relevant divisions, branches, NIE and external organisations.
