Potential career path and developmental opportunities for scholars

Through SgIS, the scholar will be given the opportunity to undergo an enriching internship. The scholar will have a head start in gaining exposure to the business through an internship assignment in the relevant functions, as well as invitations to regular dialogues and engagement sessions to help the scholar feel connected to the organization.

Upon graduating, the scholar will embark on a structured development program journey. To build a positive ecosystem surrounding the scholar, multiple developmental and engagement activities are provided along the journey.

The objective at the end of the program is for the scholar to acquire a holistic overview with the purpose of gaining appreciation into the core of our business, maximising exposure through a mix of business projects, and showing aptitude for core competencies.

Depending on the role, the program may offer three core experiences:

  1. Meaningful Job Rotations
    • Under the job rotational program, the scholar will gain a wide perspective of the business/function and be assigned specific projects or assignments for each rotation with performance objectives.
    • The scholar typically goes through 2 to 3 impactful rotations within their area of specialisation, each lasting between 6 to 12 months.
    • In each rotation, the scholar is fully immersed in a role, gaining depth and contributing fully to deliver high-impact projects in the role.
  2. Continuous Learning and Development
    • The scholar will undergo training to enable them to develop the required skills and competencies for the job, as well as supporting their career development.
  3. Engagement
    • The scholar will have networking opportunities and exposure to senior management through the Mentoring Circles program, where our leaders provide advice, guidance, and encouragement on specific development areas identified for the scholar.

Scholars who demonstrate high performance and potential will be developed under a talent pool program to take up key roles or management responsibilities in the future.
