The Novartis BioProduction Operations Singapore site is their first biologics production facility in Asia and one of the largest biologics manufacturing investments in Singapore. It is aimed to launch and produce innovative biologics medicines to transform patients’ lives.
The site focuses on drug substance manufacturing based on mammalian cell culture technology to improve and extend people’s lives by delivering breakthrough treatments to patients around the world to impact patients and society.

Potential career path and developmental opportunities for scholars
Learning for scholars start from Year 2 when they spend about one month with us to familiarize with our business and culture. During their internships in Year 3, they would have gained exposure to more than one manufacturing sub-function for hands-on experience in the site’s operations or other supporting roles in Quality or Site Development.
Upon the start of a scholar’s bond in Novartis Singapore Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing, they would join the company in an entry level role as a Manufacturing Biotechnologist, Analyst/Specialist or Engineer in a specific function.
With the multiple career levels available in Novartis, it is common for a scholar to progress in their role after two years or to consider a role in a different function. Novartis encourages associates to take on programmes offered by the Novartis Learning Institute and various learning platforms as part of their continuous learning journey.
