Add new courses and teachers

You must submit an amendment to your existing school registration licence to register new courses or teachers. Learn about the registration process and documents required.

Overview

You will need to amend your existing licence if you wish to conduct new courses or register new teachers. You will need to submit amendments for both the new courses and teachers together.

Only an existing member of your school’s Committee of Management is allowed to make the application.

Registering new courses

How to register

You will need to register your new course online via GoBusiness Licensing.

Follow these steps when registering:

  1. Select “amend existing licence” under the “licence application” menu.
  2. Choose “Ministry of Education” as the government agency.

Note:

  • You do not need to submit any documents online. Submit them via courier or postal mail after completing the online application.
  • A maximum of 10 courses can be processed per application.

Documents required

You will need to submit these supporting documents:

  1. Course write-up (if it is not a tuition course or following MOE-syllabus)
    • Course title. Keep this short and simple.
    • Origin of the course or the examination this course is preparing students for, such as professional body, examination authority (for example, TOEFL, SAT, ABRSM), school-based etc.
    • Aims and objectives, including the value or the certification it is equivalent of, especially if the course originates from your school.
    • Target students and admission requirements. For example, people with little or no knowledge of the subject, non-speakers of the language, or by academic qualifications, age etc.
    • Course syllabus. Include details such as topics and areas to be taught.
    • Total course duration and weekly instruction hours (time-table).
    • Fees, such as monthly tuition fee, registration fee.
    • Minimum and maximum size of each class or group.
  2. Original hand-signed hardcopy Form RC (Summary of Course Particulars).

The documents will be processed within 14 days upon our acceptance of the documents. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will delay the processing time.

ImportantYou can only offer and publicise your new courses after registration is completed.
Registering teachers

How to register

You will need to register your teachers online via GoBusiness Licensing.

Follow these steps when registering:

  1. Select “amend existing licence” under the “licence application” menu.
  2. Choose “Ministry of Education” as the government agency.

Note:

  • You do not need to submit any documents online. Submit them via courier or postal mail after completing the online application.
  • A maximum of 20 teachers can be processed per application.

  1. Educational certificates and transcripts. They’ll need to be notarial-translated if they are not in English.
  2. Original hand-signed hardcopy Form RT (Registration of Teacher).
  3. Photocopy (front and back) of:
    • NRIC for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
    • Passport for other nationalities.
  4. Previous letters from MOE granting the teachers permission to teach (if applicable).

The documents will be processed within 14 days upon our acceptance of the documents. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will delay the processing time.

How to submit your documents

After you submit your documents

If your documents are satisfactory, you will be notified of the approval through email or SMS. Or, you can check through GoBusiness Licensing.

You should pay the registration fee to GoBusiness Licensing within 60 days upon licence approval. If no payment is received after 60 days, your application will be considered withdrawn and you will have to apply again.

You will receive the following letters after you have successfully completed all registration and administrative procedures:

  • Conduct of course letter.
  • Letter permitting the teacher to teach in the school.
