Overview of MOE Kindergarten
MOE Kindergarten (MK) provides quality and affordable preschool education to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 5 and 6. Learn about it and whether it’s right for your child.
What is MOE Kindergarten
We started MOE Kindergarten (MK) to provide quality and affordable Kindergarten 1 (K1) and Kindergarten 2 (K2) education to Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR) .
Our curriculum and programmes focus on:
- Holistic development.
- Integrated and active learning.
- Learning through purposeful play and quality interactions.
- Developing confidence and social skills.
- Building a good foundation in literacy and numeracy.
- Nurturing bilingualism through learning activities in both English and Mother Tongue Language (i.e. Chinese, Malay and Tamil languages).
What we offer
We offer 4-hour K1 and K2 programmes for children. You can choose from the following options:

Kindergarten Care
Should parents require a full-day service, we offer Kindergarten Care (KCare), at all MKs.
If you register, your child will be in KCare before and after your selected MK session, providing a full-day programme for your child within the same premises.
Partnership with PCF Sparkletots and NTUC First Campus' My First Skool
We have partnered with PCF Sparkletots and NTUC First Campus' My First Skool in an MK – Early Years Centre (EYC) model.
This partnership provides quality and affordable preschool education for SCs and PRs aged 2 months to 6 years.
Under this model, your child will attend:
- A partner EYC until they are 4 years old.
- The MK that is partnered with the EYC and have a seamless transition to K1 in the year they turn 5.
Children with special educational needs or developmental needs
Children's learning needs are best met when they are enrolled in an education setting that has an appropriate level of support and resources. MKs will work with external partners and agencies to support children with special educational needs or developmental needs and are able to access learning in a group of 20 children.
Children who have been assessed to need medium or high levels of early intervention support should enrol at the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) centre instead. Should parents require clarification about their child's developmental needs and level of early intervention support, they can seek professional assessment at the hospitals (KKH/NUH).
MK@Mayflower provides dedicated support for children diagnosed with bilateral moderate-to-profound hearing loss who will benefit from early signing instruction to access learning. Through a signing teacher, these children will have access to instruction in Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) to build their signing proficiency in order to access the MK curriculum.
If you wish to enrol your child in the HL (Signing) programme at MK@Mayflower, you should seek a consultation with the Department of Child Development of KK Women’s and Children's Hospital (DCD-KKH), the Child Development Unit of National University Hospital (CDU-NUH) or the Centre for Hearing and Ear Implants of Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on your child's suitability for the support, including whether they will be able to access the national curriculum. The admissions process will involve hospital referrals followed by a joint hospital-MOE review of their child’s suitability for admission.
