Release of the 2025 Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level Examination Results
Published on: 27 Feb 2026
1 Candidates who sat for the 2025 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) examination received their results from their schools today1.
2 A total of 10,977 candidates sat for the examination, with 10,393 (94.7%) attaining at least 3 H2 passes, with a pass in General Paper (GP)2.
3 This is the first cohort to sit for the GCE A-Level examination under the revised computation method of the University Admission Score (UAS)3. Under the revised system, the fourth content-based subject is included only if it improves the candidate's final UAS. Project Work is excluded from this computation as it is now a Pass/Fail subject.
4 These changes were introduced to give students greater agency in calibrating their learning load for better holistic development and student well-being. They are also meant to encourage students to pursue their learning interests, such as in choosing their fourth content-based subject and Project Work topic by interest, without being overly concerned about examination grades.
5 Early indicators suggest that students have better managed their learning load. Feedback from students indicates reduced test anxiety over their fourth content-based subject. In addition, a larger proportion of students were able to offer H3 subjects in 2025 compared to 2024, allowing them to explore the subject in greater depth. More students also participated in Science Research Enrichment programmes. These trends indicate a shift towards interest-driven learning.
Applications to Autonomous Universities
6 Students who wish to apply for admission to the Autonomous Universities (AU) and for AU scholarships should submit their applications online via the respective AUs' websites. There is no need to submit a hard copy of the GCE A-Level certificate.
7 Information on the AUs' admissions requirements and processes can be found on their respective websites. Applicants should approach the AUs directly for further assistance.
Applications to Polytechnics
8 Eligible GCE A-Level graduates looking to further their studies at the polytechnics can benefit from module exemptions in about 130 courses. This can potentially reduce the time taken for them to obtain a polytechnic diploma by up to one year. Interested students should apply directly to the polytechnics from Wednesday, 25 February to Tuesday, 10 March 2026, for matriculation in April 2026. Students may also apply in August 2026 for matriculation in October 2026. More details can be found on the respective polytechnics' websites.
Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Support
9 Students are encouraged to explore the range of education and career pathways available to them to make informed decisions about their next steps. They may refer to the following websites for more information:
- MOE's CourseFinder (moe.gov.sg/coursefinder)
- MySkillsFuture Student Portal (go.gov.sg/mysfpreu)
10 Students may also consult their teachers or ECG Counsellors in their respective schools about their next steps. Alternatively, they can make an ECG counselling appointment via the ECG Centre @ MOE at go.gov.sg/moe-ecg-centre. The ECG Centre @ MOE offers online or phone counselling services from Monday, 23 February 2026 to Thursday, 19 March 2026 from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.
Footnotes
- The Cambridge International Education, the Ministry of Education, Singapore and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board are the joint examining authorities for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level examination.
- The GCE A-Level certificate is awarded to candidates who obtain at least a Grade E at H1-Level or H2-Level subject. Knowledge & Inquiry (KI) is no longer offered in lieu of GP, but will continue to be a contrasting subject for all JC/MI students.
- The maximum UAS score is now 70 points, calculated from the candidate's performance for their 3 H2 subjects and H1 General Paper. The 4th content-based subject is included only if it improves the UAS, which is then rebased to 70 points. A Pass in Project Work is required for admission to the AUs.
