INFRASTRUCTURAL ENHANCEMENT |
Improve learning spaces to support different learning modes, enabled by technology
|
- Support more student-centred, experiential, and collaborative learning
|
- School learning spaces will be more flexible and adaptable. For example, moveable partitions and configurable furniture can enable classrooms to better facilitate different learning modes and varying group sizes.
(Please refer to photos 1 and 2 in the Annex.)
- MOE will also refresh facilities such as the library and science laboratories (in secondary schools) to accommodate a wider range of learning activities, such as group discussions and student-initiated projects.

- Enhance learning through educational technologies
|
- MOE will progressively upgrade network coverage in schools, and increase the cloud storage allocation for teachers and students. This can support and enhance collaborations, and allow for more immersive and interactive learning experiences, such as through the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Enhance work environment to support teachers’ collaboration and professional development
|
- Promote formal and informal staff interactions and enhance teacher well-being
|
- MOE will provide more conducive and multi-functional work spaces. These could include multi-purpose pantries, areas to discuss teaching practices, and private booths for recording of online learning materials.

- Staff and services supporting student welfare will be consolidated in a centralised Student Services Hub for more integrated service to students.

Design more facilities for sharing with the community and to promote social mixing across schools |
- Strengthen school-community connections and optimise land use
|
- MOE will continue to work with Sport Singapore to design and open more school facilities for community use under the Dual-Use Scheme. These include Indoor Sports Halls, fields, and game courts.

- Facilitate more mixing across schools
|
- MOE will explore feasible ways to provide facilities in selected schools to be shared across schools, such as Performing Art Studios (in selected primary schools) and rock-climbing walls.

Improving student learning environment and services
|
- Mitigate the impact of climate change
|
- MOE will continue to implement measures such as providing more fans and use of cool paint, rain-shields and greenery for schools.

- Support students with mobility difficulties, and ageing workforce
|
- MOE will continue to improve barrier-free accessibility routes in school campuses, such as by providing additional lifts and ramps.
- MOE is also exploring less manpower-intensive school operating models, such as use of centralised kitchens to prepare and deliver food to schools, and full-height turnstiles to control school access points to reduce reliance on manpower.
