Published Date: 02 June 2021 04:51 PM

News Press Releases

1. The Teachers' Conference is a three-day event organised biennially by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for teachers to learn together as a fraternity. This year celebrates our 10th edition, and Teachers' Conference and ExCEL Fest 2021 (TCEF2021), held from 1 to 3 June, is our first edition that is fully online. The Conference aims to bring local educators together to learn, to connect and to engage with thought leaders and practitioners, as we explore possibilities for the future of teaching and learning.

2. The focus of the Conference is 'Ignite Imagination, Empower Communities, Transform Practice'. It reinforces our fraternity's emphasis on lifelong learning and supports us to continually deepen our beliefs, better understand our students, and further strengthen our classroom practice to nurture future-ready learners.

3. With more than 1100 presenters from schools, MOE HQ and partner organisations in 260 virtual live interactive sessions, 108 poster presentations and 79 virtual exhibition booths, participants have the opportunity to learn about various topics including good practices for teaching and learning, character and citizenship education, and the use of educational technology.

4. The Guest-of-Honour (GOH) for TCEF2021 is Minister for Education Mr Chan Chun Sing who will address the Singapore teaching fraternity on 2 June 2021. With more than 10000 participants, TCEF2021 is the biggest edition of the Teachers' Conference, since its first edition two decades ago.

ExCEL Fest 2021 Virtual Exhibition

5. The ExCEL Fest 2021 Virtual Exhibition features an array of award-winning projects and innovations from MOE Kindergartens, Schools, HQ Divisions and Statutory Boards. These include projects that have won the following awards:

  • The MOE Innergy Awards, which aim to recognise individuals and teams at the ministry level, for successfully developing and implementing innovations to bring about significant benefits and impact in their workplaces, and
  • The MOE Outstanding Innovator Awards, which aim to recognise individuals who have been key influencers of innovation in their workplaces or beyond.

6. MOE staff and invited guests, including parents and international participants, can attend and participate in the exhibition to learn about the different ways in which MOE adopted innovation in the areas of teaching and learning, work processes and education technologies. The exhibition also provides participants with an opportunity to exchange innovative ideas and best practices with one another through online interactive sessions.
