Highlights of E-MTLs

3. This year, the e-MTLS will feature a virtual gallery with 35 exhibits, 18 sharing sessions and an Online Quest.

Gallery: Parents and educators can explore innovative practices in promoting the love for MTLs through interactive exhibits by pre-schools, schools, community partners and the Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOE curriculum exhibit will also allow parents and educators to better understand the different pathways MOE provides for MTL learning, from pre-school to pre-university.

Sharing Sessions: Through pre-recorded and live-streamed sharing sessions, education experts such as Dr Sharifah Mariam Aljunied and Dr Connie Lum, as well as celebrity parents and renowned speakers – such as Ms Elakeyaa Selvaraji, Mr Colin Goh and Mdm Woo Yen Yen – will share their insights on creative ways to inspire children to learn MTLs. There will also be a panel discussion on "Creating an Immersive Environment for the Learning of Our Mother Tongue Languages", which will be live-streamed. The public can engage the panellists and discuss issues on MTL learning. More information on the speakers and panellists are found in the Annex.

Online Quest: The Online Quest, which will also be available on the e-MTLS website in November 2020, will feature eight interactive task-based games. Children can role-play as friends of the MTLS mascots as they navigate through the Quest and experience the joy of learning MTLs.

4. A wide range of curated MTL digital and non-digital learning resources will also be made available for sale online. Members of the public can browse through recommended picks and specially produced books by partner organisations such as the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism.

5. e-MTLS is a free event that is open to the public. From 10 August, members of the public can visit www.mtls.edu.sg to find out more about the Symposium. The Symposium's recorded segments will be available online till early 2021.
