2019年学前华文教学研讨会

More than 800 pre-school Chinese Language (CL) teachers and educationists attended a seminar on “Emotional Management for Pre-schoolers” on 17 August 2019. The annual event aimed to enhance pre-school CL teachers professional skills and grow their professional support network. It is organised by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) and supported by the Early Childhood and Development Agency (ECDA) and National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC).

2. More than 800 pre-school Chinese Language (CL) teachers and educationists attended a seminar on “Emotional Management for Pre-schoolers” on 17 August 2019. The annual event aimed to enhance pre-school CL teachers professional skills and grow their professional support network. It is organised by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) and supported by the Early Childhood and Development Agency (ECDA) and National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC).

This year's seminar highlighted strategies to equip pre-schoolers with the social skills to navigate their social environment, emotional skills to identify and express their feelings, and coping skills to deal with everyday challenges and transitions. Ms Wang Pei-Ling, Professor of Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Taipei, delivered the keynote address entitled 'Understanding your child's temperament helps you be a better teacher'.

In addition, 18 educationists and pre-school teachers held workshops on innovative pedagogies, where they shared their experiences on teaching CL and helping pre-schoolers express and cope with their emotions. Members of CPCLL's Pre-school CL Teachers' Learning Community, who were past recipients of the Outstanding Pre-school Mother Tongue Language Teacher Award (CL), were also involved in facilitating the seminar.
