540 participants from 30 pre-university institutions1 have come together for this year’s Pre-University Seminar to engage in dialogues on issues of national concern, such as preparing for the future economy, securing Singapore’s food, water and energy resources, and strengthening our national identity. Held at the National University of Singapore, the seminar series began on 3 June and will conclude on 8 June.

2. Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat was the Guest-of-Honour for the Opening Ceremony today, where he took part in a Q&A session with participants and watched a special video commemorating 50 years of the seminar. Minister for Education, Ong Ye Kung, will grace the Closing Ceremony on 8 June.

3. Themed ‘Singapore 4.0: What Next?’, this year’s seminar encourages participants to explore aspects of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution and consider what the future holds for Singapore.
