Published Date: 21 September 2018 12:00 AM

News Press Releases

1. As part of ongoing efforts to encourage greater diversity in our schools, Dunman High School (DHS) and River Valley High School (RVHS)1 will participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE)2 from 2019.

2. DHS and RVHS both offer the six-year Integrated Programme (IP) that culminates in the GCE A-Level examinations. Currently, both schools do not admit GCE O-Level students from other secondary schools into their JC levels.

3. With their participation in the JAE, both schools will be able to admit GCE O-Level students from other secondary schools. O-Level students interested in the JC route will have two more schools to choose from. This will also provide more opportunities for the current students in both schools to interact and experience school life with more students at the Junior College (JC) level. DHS and RVHS are the final two IP schools3 that will participate in the JAE, joining all other IP schools to admit GCE O-Level students into their JC levels.

Footnotes
  1. DHS and RVHS began offering the Integrated Programme (IP) in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
  2. The JAE is conducted annually to allow GCE-O Level certificate holders to apply for courses offered by Institute of Technical Education, Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute and Polytechnics.
  3. There are 6 IP schools offering the GCE A-Level programme that are currently participating in the JAE. These schools include: Eunoia JC, Hwa Chong Institution, National Junior College, Raffles Institution, Temasek Junior College and Victoria Junior College.
