1. 24 schools will be recognised for their best practices in the area of student development at the Ministry of Education (MOE) Work Plan Seminar (WPS) on 22 September 2015.

Lee Hsien Loong Award for Innovations in Normal Course

2. CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent, Clementi Town Secondary School and Serangoon Garden Secondary School will receive the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Innovations in the Normal Course. These schools had demonstrated innovative practices in the teaching and learning, school management and organisation, as well as student development in the Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) Courses. This has led to significant benefits in the all-round development of their students. Details of each school’s innovative approaches are in Annex A.

Best Practices

3. 21 schools will be recognised for Best Practices in five key aspects - Teaching and Learning, Character and Citizenship Education, Student All-Round Development, Staff Well-Being and Development, and Partnership. These schools are recognised for their effective programmes, processes and systems that have led to good education outcomes for their students. Details of some of the schools’ effective practices and systems are in Annex B.
