School Counsellor (For Applicants without Counselling Training)
Have you always wanted to be a School Counsellor but lack the relevant counselling qualifications or experience?
Successful candidates without the relevant qualifications or experience will be sponsored to attend a foundational training programme, after which you will be deployed to MOE schools. The training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to support our students with their social and emotional development needs.
Applicants should have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferably at least one year of full-time working experience in education, counselling and/or volunteer work involving children and youths
Applicants should hold a university degree. Those without a degree and with relevant experience/expertise may also apply
School Counsellors will be appointed on the Allied Educators Scheme of Service. Successful candidates will be offered appointment on contract basis and receive a monthly salary while undergoing the foundational training. The appointment grade and starting salary will take into consideration the relevance of your experience to the position, time spent on the job, and your academic training. You will also be eligible for annual and performance bonuses. Those who have completed full-time National Service will be granted additional salary increments.
Successful candidates will undergo a foundational training programme provided by the Ministry before deployment to school as a School Counsellor. The training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to support our students with their social and emotional needs. The cost of the training will be borne by the Ministry and participants will receive a full monthly salary while undergoing the training.
