Following the School Option Phase, your child will be posted based on his/her performances in the Supplementary Placement Exercise tests, school choices and available school vacancies.
Under the Supplementary Placement Exercise, secondary schools may admit a small number of applicants over and above their planned capacity. This takes into consideration that your child has been away for some time and was unable to seek admission into secondary schools together with other Singaporean children who had taken the PSLE.
If your child is not posted to any of the schools opted for, MOE will place your child in a secondary school with a vacancy that is near to your residential address.
Applicants who are successfully allocated a place in our school through the Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise will not be allocated another place through the Supplementary Placement Exercise as places have already been reserved for them in the DSA-Sec schools. They will not be allowed to transfer to another school as they are expected to honour the commitment to the allocated DSA schools for the entire duration of the programme.
Release of Posting Results
Tentatively, the posting results for the Supplementary Placement Exercise will be released on 1 February 2018.
The Supplementary Placement Exercise Internet System (SPE IS) allows you to retrieve your child’s posting results from a computer with internet connection.
You will need the following information ready to log in:
- Your child’s NRIC/BC Number
- Your child’s Passport Number (used for SPE application)
- Supplementary Placement Exercise Index Number
Reporting to School
Your child is required to report to the posted schools by 8 February 2018, or MOE and the school will have full discretion to admit another student to the school in place of your child. If your child is unable to report during the reporting and registration period, you will need to contact the posted schools to make alternative arrangements.
